"He just sounds damn good..."

"We've been so happy with Gordon's work. He's easy to work with. Totally fits our station's image and has really added and freshened up our sound. Even our listeners have commented on our change to Gordon and it's been all good. I highly recommend him. He’s reasonably priced, has been awesome on the turn around and well, just sounds damn good."

Experience...backed by the hardware

For imaging I use the Sennheiser MKH 416 shotgun, the preferred option for radio, network television and movie trailer imaging. The 416 is respected for its capacity to cut through a mix, which is a must for imaging applications.

For corporate, e-learning and narrative I use a Neumann U87 manufactured by the original Neumann factory at Berlin in 1988.

Here is my actual U87 in action on two iconic ad campaigns: The VO in Elizabeth Taylor's 'White Diamonds' TV spot, and the VO for the original X-Files movie in 1998, were both performed on the very microphone that now sits in my isolation booth. Not just the same model, but the actual mic. I acquired it from the voice talent featured in the two videos you can see below...

All mics feed a John Hardy M-1 preamp tied to a Universal Audio 6176 that combines a 610 tube pre with an 1176 FET compressor.

Here's my pre-amp guy, who custom-built my pre-amp at his headquarters in Illinois. There is none better...

With an accoustically-treated isolation booth, the end result is professional sound representing the best sonics available from a home studio environment. I stock other mics and outboard gear, but this is the go-to signal path straight to the DAW for most applications. The UA 610 tube pre affords the warmth of tube amplification, whereas the all-FET signal path teaming the John Hardy with the 1176LN for gentle compression provides the clarity and accuracy required of high-end campaigns.

My equipment has been chosen with great care. Good writing requires extensive research, and I applied that same research ethic to the task of equipping my studio to mirror what is commonly found in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. And yet I keep my rates competitive. Your audio project can't help but benefit...

You can entrust your voiceover requirements to me with the utmost confidence.
